Local Catholics recognize Good Friday with Way of the Cross

WICHITA, Kansas – Local Catholics come together to recognize Good Friday with Way of the Cross.

The silent procession began at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Jospeh’s Parish Church.

From there, the group made its way around downtown until reaching the Lord’s Diner at the corner of Broadway and Central.

Organizers believe the Way of the Cross is an opportunity for the community to remember what Catholics believe happened over 2,000 years ago.

“Thought we’d have a public witness to remind people that it is Good Friday, to remind people of what Jesus has done for us and that we’re all on a journey,” said Father Jim Weldon, Catholic Diocese of Wichita.
