KSN still waiting for drug bust money report

wichita police

We have been following the money that law enforcement gets from drug busts.

Earlier this week, we told you about a report from kansaswatchdog.com that claims the Wichita Police Department haven’t tracked several hundred thousand dollars they have collected as part of these busts.

On Thursday, we sat down with Wichita Police Lt. Dan East, who told us they used the money for training and other programs. We asked for an itemized report of exactly how that money has been used, like the report we received from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. We were told we would have that report Friday.

Now, we have been asked to fill out an open records request form to get that information. We have filed that request and will continue to follow this story. When we get the break-down from the Wichita Police Department we will share that information with you.
