WICHITA, Kansas – After months of public meetings, feedback and planning, Wichita public transportation officials are ready to roll out two new bus routes from the downtown area to New Market Square shopping district.

The new routes started Saturday, April 12th and will pick up bus riders downtown and drop them off at the west side shopping center.

It took months of planning and preparation for Wichita Transit officials to perfect the new routes so that they could make the biggest impact on those who use public transportation.

From Monday, April 14th through Saturday, April 26th, the city is offering free rides on either of the expanded routes (West Maple or West Central). You can also register on the bus for prizes, including a $100 gift card to a New Market Square store.
