Eckles to leave Kansas Chamber

WICHITA, Kansas – Kent Eckles, who has served as the Vice President of Government Affairs with the Kansas Chamber for six years, has accepted the position of State Director for the American Petroleum Institute (API) where he will serve as Executive Director for the Kansas Petroleum Council.

“We are sad to lose him after nearly six years with the Chamber. His expertise is the area of tax policy in particular will be missed, but we understand this is an exciting opportunity for Kent and know he will continue to be a strong partner with the Kansas Chamber in his new role” said Mike O’Neal, President and CEO of The Kansas Chamber.

API has been a member of the Kansas Chamber since 1954.

In his new capacity, Eckles will serve as the face of the oil and gas industry in Kansas and lobby at both the State and Federal levels on energy policy effecting this important sector of the State.
