Suspect in Garden City Wal-Mart stabbing arrested

GARDEN CITY, Kansas – Police in western Kansas have arrested a suspect in a stabbing at the Garden City Wal-Mart.

It happened around 8:04 a.m. Sunday morning.

Officers arrived and found a 31-year-old female who had multiple stab wounds to her head and face area.

The initial investigation determined an unknown man entered the business and walked back to the electronics department.

The suspect approached the victim, who is an employee of the business, and began stabbing her without provocation.

Officers obtained a description of the suspect and learned he fled the store on foot.

At about 12:29 p.m., officers located the suspect outside of 2606 E. Fair St. Apt. 15 where he was taken into custody without incident.

The victim was transported to St. Catherine Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
