WICHITA, Kansas – Kaleigh Glanton’s stint on the hit NBC show “The Voice” ended Monday night after being eliminated in the second battle round.
Glanton faced off against Ryan Whyte Maloney of Traverse City, Michigan, with a spot in the live playoff round on the line. But after their duet of Rascal Flatts’ song “Easy,” coach Blake Shelton chose Maloney, and Glanton was eliminated.
Although her time on the show has come to an end, Glanton credits the experience for helping her grow as an artist.
“It’s basically molded me into a new artist, really, like a completely new artist,” she said. “I’m super excited to see what I can do at my future shows and career and see what ‘The Voice’ has really molded me into.”
In this round of competition, Glanton got a chance to work with Coldplay front man Chris Martin.
“He was amazing and gave me a lot of advice,” she said. “He’s incredible, and one of my biggest influences, so that was awesome.”
Kaleigh says the opportunity to perform for a national audience was the experience of a lifetime, and will continue to work toward a successful singing career. She has been working on some new material and plans on releasing an album soon.
“I’m so excited for people to hear my original stuff, because it is going to be very different, and very new and fresh for everybody,” she said. “I think people are going to love it.”
