HUTCHINSON, Kansas (AP) – Police say a Hutchinson man is facing several charges after a car chase and standoff.

Police Lt. Thad Pickard says in a news release that the chase began Sunday afternoon in Hutchinson when a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper saw a man he thought was wanted on outstanding warrants.

The vehicle’s driver refused to stop, leading the trooper and Hutchinson police on a chase across the city. Pickard says the driver eventually abandoned the car and fled into a house.

After about an hour, four people left the house. The driver of the car, a 35-year-old man, was arrested.

No one was injured.
