Wichita police officer dragged by suspect during traffic stop

WICHITA, Kansas – A Wichita police officer was dragged by a suspect trying to flee a traffic stop early Thursday morning.

Police said it happened just after midnight in the 1500 block of South Bleckley.

Two officers pulled over a vehicle for a traffic stop when one of the officers approached the car.

The driver took off dragging the officer a short distance.

He was not injured.

The 32-year-old man driving the car was eventually arrested.
