WICHITA, Kansas – On Tuesday, Wesley Medical Center honored those who have given the gift of life with a special ceremony.
The Wesley Donor Advisory Council says the service helps families of the donors find some comfort and realize they’re not alone in their loss.
“It’s something that makes a positive out of a negative in terms of what they’ve had to go through in their loss and for the recipients of course, it’s the gift of life,” said Cyndi Chapman, Wesley Medical Center.
There were 27 organ donations last year, and 54 eye and tissue donations helping more than 2,000 people.
Wesley says it is consistently one of the top two hospitals for donations in the Midwest area.
