Haysville voters deciding on sales tax hike

HAYSVILLE, Kansas – Voters in Haysville are deciding whether to approve a 1 percent sales tax hike.

Polls will close at 7 p.m.

The 1 percent hike would be used for street improvements.

Some of the money would go to upgrade city parks and expand offerings at the activity center.

If it passes, the earliest the increased tax would go into effect is July 1, 2014.

It would last for 10 years.
