WICHITA, Kansas – Blowing dust forced both the north and south bound lanes of K-25 to close from US-36 to the Nebraska border Monday morning.

At approximately 4:30 p.m.,  both north and south bound lanes of K-27 were closed from Goodland to Wheeler due to visibility issues caused by blowing dirt.  At approximately 6:15 p.m., both were reopened.

Much of northern Kansas is under a dust storm warning until 8 p.m. this evening.

The following counties effected are Sheridan, Graham, Rawlins, Decatur, and Norton

Visibilities of one quarter mile or less will be frequent south of tilled fields and dirt roads.

Wind will be sustained at 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
