Shockers return to Koch Arena early Monday

WICHITA, Kansas – The Wichita State Shockers returned to Koch Arena early Monday morning where fans gathered to say thanks for their remarkable run.

The eighth-seeded Kentucky Wildcats erased a nine-point, second-half deficit to beat the No. 1 Shockers 78-76 Sunday in St. Louis.

Dressed in their best Wichita State gear and personalized signs in hand, fans clapped and cheered as each person got off the bus just to let them know they are still proud.

For some, the fact it is all over, they say it is heartbreaking.

“The loss is hard, but you have to show your support though out the good and the bad. The fact that these guys gave us such an amazing run, I have to give my brothers hugs. It is something ill never forget,” said Braden Billocheck. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
