Five men charged in multiple county theft ring

WICHITA, Kansas – A year-long effort to prosecute a local burglary and theft operation in multiple counties has resulted in five men being charged, convicted and sent to prison.

Law enforcement officers from Butler, Kingman, Harvey and Sedgwick counties investigated dozens of burglaries and thefts that have now been tied to the men.

Richard Sipes, Jack Stanley, Seth Dulaney, Steven Effertz and Timoth McNitt have all been sentenced in connection with the case.

Investigators say stolen cars and metal taken from businesses added up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in property losses for the victims.

Combined, the five were charged and convicted in nearly 50 counts of burglary, theft, flee and elude, and drug possession. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
