Shockers arrive in St. Louis

WICHITA, Kansas – It was quite the welcome for the Wichita State Shockers as they made their way to the Westin Hotel Wednesday night. They arrived shortly before 7 p.m.

For fans of the team, it was certainly a moment they were waiting for.

“We are so proud of these guys, they have worked so hard the entire year, and you’ve got a group of young men who are talented, who are so unselfish, coached by one of the best guys in the nation and it’s so exciting to watch them. The sky is the limit,” said Michele Kyle, WSU fan.

Kyle and her family made their way to St. Louis in hopes of catching the team as they arrived, and their efforts were rewarded.

But even they can see that it is bigger than just the Shockers.

“We’ve said it’s a once in a lifetime experience for our family. It’s spring break for us, and we’re here in St. Louis to watch all three Kansas teams,” said Kyle.

“We went to the Final Four last year, wonderful experience we just kinda picked up from there, we been living the experience all year, with the undefeated season it just kept building and building, and now this? We’re looking forward to the next step and the step after that,” said Curtis Kyle. “Can’t wait to go to Dallas.”

The team will start practice today and that is open to the public.
