Tumbleweeds overun one town

ROSWELL, New Mexico (KOB) – The wind is continuing to cause trouble in eastern New Mexico.

It’s a place where Joyce Harless says she enjoys living alone.

But this week is a different story.

The tumbleweeds are piling seven to eight feet high in some places.

“There’s no way I can. I usually do my own yard work, but there’s no way I can do this,” said Harless. “Just no way.”

Some residents can’t even walk between homes.

Joyce’s neighbors say all the windy days are creating a problem that seems never-ending.

“It’s been horrible,” said Carlos Salas.“We just keep pushing them out, they keep coming. We keep pushing them out but it’s like more just keep blowing in.”
