Suspected thief found hiding in Dillons ceiling

LAWRENCE, Kansas (KSHB) – You can find a lot of what you’d expect at a market inside Dillons Food Store in Lawrence, Kansas, but on Saturday night a security guard found something unexpected: a man hiding above the store’s ceiling.

Sulvamet Hanratanagorn, 37, appeared in court Monday and was charged with aggravated burglary and criminal damage to property.

He was also charged for three separate times when police said he’s believed to have crawled to the store’s pharmacy to steal prescription pills.

Hanratanagorn did not speak during Monday’s court appearance, where he appeared via webcam from the Douglas County Jail, and his bond was set at $50,000. Should he post bond, he’ll have to shop elsewhere, though, as he is barred from any Dillons location in Douglas County.
