“The Voice” begins its battle rounds Monday. It means the coaches bring their advisors in to help mentor the contestants. For Blake Shelton, that meant bringing in one of country music’s hottest acts.
Songs by the country trio “The Band Perry” have been a staple for contestants on the show.
But this week, the chart topping sibling appear on the show to help Blake Shelton’s team prepare for the battle rounds.
“When he called us and asked the three of us to be advisors in the battle rounds, I think we thought about it for .2 seconds before there was a resounding yes!” said Kimberly Perry.
They welcomed the chance to mentor the contestants because they’ve benefited themselves from critiques over the years.
“Taking constructive advice is absolutely how we got from point a to point b, so it was really cool to give back on “The Voice”, added Kim.
“The Band Perry” is pretty tight with Blake Shelton.
Beyond their mentoring duties, they will be touring with Shelton later this summer.
Also serving as mentors on “The Voice” are Aloe Blacc, Jill Scott, and Blake Shelton’s wife, Miranda Lambert, who is helping with Shakira’s team.
