Grenade found in Wichita apartment

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police were called to a South Wichita apartment complex Saturday night after a resident found a grenade while cleaning.

The bomb squad was sent to the complex in the 2600 block of South Topeka around 9 p.m. Saturday. Sgt. John Hoofer said it was a pineapple style grenade that was found in the apartment. The bomb squad took the grenade to dispose of it.

They do not know if it was a live grenade.
