Westar raising costs for electricity

WICHITA, Kansas – The Kansas Corporation Commission has approved Westar Energy’s request for a $43 million hike.

The company says the cost of delivering power to your home or office has gone up.

The cost of the average homeowner’s bill will go up $2.60 a month.

For larger homes, the increase could add up to $4.30 to the monthly statement.

The overall rate hike kicks in April 20th.
