One dead in officer-involved shooting

OBERLIN, Kansas – One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting.

It happened in Oberlin Monday evening after police were called to a home for a criminal investigation.

When Oberlin police and the Kansas Highway Patrol arrived, they say a suspect began to run.

Shots were fired at the officer in the 700 block of East Commericial.

Officers returned fire killing the suspect.

The Oberlin Police Department, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Highway Patrol, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are working the case
