Police identify woman killed in shooting

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police continue to investigate the city’s latest homicide.

It happened Sunday at 3:10 a.m. outside the Phat Azz Bikes Private Clubhouse in the 1000 block of North Cleveland.

According to police, 23-year-old Kelsey L. Shaw was found shot.

She was walking up to the club with two others when a fight broke out.

Shots were fired during that time.

“Was later determined that she had a gunshot wound to her head, she was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead,” said Sgt. John Hoofer, Wichita Police Department.

Two people had been kicked out of the club earlier, but it’s unclear if there’s any connection to the shooting.

Police say there has been little cooperation in the investigation.

They urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.

Police say it is the fifth homicide of the year in Wichita.
