WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police arrested a 50-year-old man after he stole items from an apartment above John Barleycorn’s bar.

It happened Sunday night in the 600 block of East Douglas.

A woman went home and found her door was locked from the inside.

This concerned her so she went downstairs to ask the bartender.

The bartender told her he heard noises above.

Police were called, and when they arrived, they found a 50-year-old removing a television, computer and several electronics worth about $6,000 from the apartment.

“What we believe happened, the burglar went on top of the building from the roof and made entry through a window,” said Capt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.

Police arrested 50-year-old John S. Marshall for residential burglary.
