Students board buses overnight to cheer on the Shockers

WICHITA, Kansas – The Wichita State Shockers are putting their unbeaten streak on the line against Evansville in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament.

When they do, there will be plenty of black and yellow in the stands.

Overnight at the Wichita State University campus, excited students boarded two buses.

They arrived in time for a morning pep rally.

Students who have made the journey before say it is worth the long ride.

“This is our third consecutive year going. It is too much fun to pass up. It is a once of year experience you look forward to all year. It is kind of like Christmas morning,” said Paul Bond, WSU student.

Eighty students were part of the bus trip.

Many more fans made their way separately.
