Man stabbed multiple times near downtown

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say a 51-year-old man was stabbed by a homeless man.

It happened 7:55 p.m. in the 800 block of South Market.

The victim said he met a homeless man on South Broadway.

He allowed him to come to his home.

“When they got to the house, the suspect began choking him, and then stabbed him 10 times,” said Capt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.

The man was taken to St. Francis in serious condition.

The suspect left on foot.

The victim doesn’t believe anything was stolen.
