Swim To A Wish event gets major donation

HAYSVILLE, Kansas — In the second annual Swim To A Wish event put on by the Campus High School boys’ swim and dive team, the event got a major boost from an anonymous donor. The donor set the bar at $6,000 and said they would match anything received up to that limit.

The event is on February 28 at 3:30 p.m. and will be at the Campus High School pool.

Swim To A Wish features a five-member team swimming continuously toward a goal of 100 miles to raise money for Make-A-Wish Kansas. Each swimmer will take turns swimmer 71 laps which is equivalent to one mile until the goal is reached.

This year’s participants are Brandon Elkins, Tim Pitts, Jon Greenlee, Jonathan Fleming and Alex Adams.

The team is encouraging the public to reach the amount set by the anonymous donor as well as contribute bottled water and energy drinks. All donated items may be dropped off at the Campus High School pool. The general public is welcome to attend the entire event.

Each swimmer is accepting sponsorship and donations to benefit Make-A-Wish Kansas. You can make your donation by contacting Coach Kelly Kennedy at (316)200-0120.
