Hernandez jailhouse brawl

(WHDH) Former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez has been involved in a jailhouse fight.

The incident happened Tuesday at a jail in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

Sheriff Thomas Hodgson of Bristol County, Massachusetts is reviewing the surveillance video at the Bristol County House of Corrections to see how it started.

“There was altercation that took place in the unit where he is housed and he was involved in this altercation with other inmate,” said Hodgson.

The former Patriots player has been in the Bristol County jail for 244 days since his arrest in June for the murder of Odin Lloyd.

The sheriff says he’s allowed out of his jail cell for three hours a day and should be the only inmate out so they’ll be investigating how Hernandez and the other inmate came into contact with each other.

“The standard operating procedure in our special inmate’s unit is only one inmate out at the time. So we have to look at what if anything took place that would involve a failure on our part on procedure,” according to Hodgson.
