Grass fire causes problems along K-42 southwest of Wichita

K42 Grass Fires

WICHITA, Kansas – A grass fire caused several parts of K-42 to be closed southwest of Wichita Wednesday.

Grass fires were spotted at 119th, 151st, 167th Street West and all the way to the Harper County line.

Fire officials believe a muffler spitting sparks caused the string of fires along the highway.

They don’t think the fires were intentionally set.
