Man injured in officer-involved shooting

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police responded to the 2300 block of East Graber Tuesday afternoon after receiving a call that a man there had “suicidal intentions”.

When officers arrived they were informed that there may have been shots fired already. Police entered the home where they were confronted by a man with a gun.

Officers told the man to put the gun down and that is when he pointed it at them. Officials say officers did fire their weapons but it is not known at this time whether the man fired at officers or whether the man was shot by officers or by himself.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and is currently in surgery.
