WICHITA, Kansas – With the messy roads and cold weather, some parents criticized the Wichita school district for having class.
As a result, USD 259 is reporting an 80 percent attendance rate compared to the usual 90 or 95 percent.
Spokeswoman Susan Arensman says the district decided early this morning to have school because only a couple inches of snow was expected.
By the time more came down, it was too late to cancel class.
Some buses ran up to an hour late.
