UNION, Kentucky (WLWT) – Students and parents at one Northern Kentucky school found out school was closed Monday in a unique way.

Stephens Elementary School principal Jim Detwiler and drama teacher Chad Caddell sang a closing song to the tune of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” for the automated closing phone system.

The pair recorded the song last week in anticipation of a possible closing this week, Detwiler said.

Detwiler said he’s trying to show kids how creative they can be with technology and trying to entertain the parents.

He sang another closing last month to the tune of “Tomorrow” from the musical “Annie.”
