WICHITA, Kansas – Attorneys for the suspects accused in the capital murder of a Valley Center couple were in court Friday for a motions hearing.
Anthony Bluml and his biological mother Kisha Schaberg are accused of the murder of Anthony’s adoptive parents along with Andrew Ellington and Braden Smith.
Melissa and Roger Bluml were attacked in their home back in November.
Melissa died within days and Roger died after weeks in the hospital.
Friday, four separate defense attorneys said they wanted cameras to record the Sedgwick County forensics team as they analyze the DNA in the case, or they want an independent forensics team to work on the DNA.
The state argued those extra steps aren’t necessary.
The judge set another hearing to continue discussions.
It is set for February 14th.
