Police ID woman killed by a train

Train accident near K-15 and Harry in southeast Wichita.

WICHITA, Kansas – A 53-year-old woman who was killed Tuesday morning when she walked in front of a train has been identified.

It happened near K-15 and Harry just after 3 a.m.

Officials say the Vikki Battle was walking along side the tracks when the train approached.

Battle was suffering from dementia.

Intersections including Harry, Hydraulic and Mt. Vernon were closed for several hours while crews completed their investigation.
