Wichita State goes into tomorrow’s game against Indiana State ranked No. 5 in the nation and riding an 18-game win streak. More importantly though, a win will give the Shockers early control over the Missouri Valley Conference.
Indiana State is 14-3 and matches Wichita State with a 5-0 conference record. Riding their own winning streak, the Sycamores will look to win their eighth consecutive game at Charles Koch Arena Saturday.
“Hey, we can play really good and get beat, that’s how good Wichita State is,” Indiana State coach Greg Lansing said. “We can play awfully well and go in there and get beat.”
Last year the teams split in their two matchups and this year looks to be just as close. They go No. 1 and No. 2 in conference in points per game with Indiana State averaging 76.7 and Wichita State close behind at 75.8.
This much anticipated game has led to Shocker fans camping out over night in the parking lot outside of Koch Arena despite lows projected to be around 26 degrees.
Tip off is set for 3:00 p.m. CT.
