Conway Springs man killed in collision in southwest Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas – One man was killed in an collision in southwest Wichita.

It happened just before 9:30 Monday evening at K-42 and Maize Road.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 2007 Cadillac, driven by 80-year-old Truman Shinn of Conway Springs, was stopped westbound on K-42 at Maize.

When the light turned green, Shinn pulled ahead and rear ended a semi.

Truman was taken to the hospital where he later died.

His wife, 80-year-old Carol Shinn, was transported to Wesley Medical Center for her injuries.

The driver of the semi wasn’t injured.
