Several months ago, Oklahoma State basketball star Marcus Smart said that Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins hadn’t done anything yet to deserve the considerable hype he’d been receiving.
Saturday the Cowboys will travel to Lawrence and Smart will get to see Wiggins up close and personal.
Oklahoma State is currently ranked 9th in the AP Polls and are 15-2 and 3-1 in the Big 12. Kansas sits at No. 15 in the AP with a 12-4 overall record and 3-0 in conference play.
Both stars are being projected as probable lottery picks for this year’s NBA draft and this will be the first time their teams will face each other this season. Smart and Wiggins may not be matched up the entire game but there will be a good chance they will be challenging each other at some point.
While both teams are doing well midway through the college basketball season, this will be a huge matchup for each team’s tournament resume as March Madness approaches.
