Cabell Co. reports 1st flu death of season

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Cabell County is reporting its first flu death of the season.

The Cabell-Huntington Health Department says a patient died Sunday at St. Mary’s Medical Center from Influenza A and other health complications. Details weren’t released.

Health department executive director Dr. Harry Tweel tells The Herald-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1cMPgrg ) that people between the ages of 24 and 35 appear to be hit particularly hard during this flu season. He says the male patient who died was in this age range.

Tweel says there’s still time to be vaccinated.
