Vegas mayor’s son recovering from severe injuries

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Eric Goodman, the son of Sin City’s current and former mayors, is recovering from serious head injuries suffered in an attack earlier this month.

KLAS-TV and the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Saturday that Goodman was assaulted while jogging at South Tower Park in Las Vegas on Dec. 15.

Goodman, the son of Mayor Carolyn Goodman and former Mayor Oscar Goodman, was found unconscious in a restroom at the park.

In a statement, his parents said he now is “doing very well” at a rehabilitation center after receiving “the best of care” at University Medical Center.

His family says Eric Goodman couldn’t help police determine what happened.

Police have issued a plea for the public’s help in the case.
