INDIANAPOLIS — The federal government says nearly 3,500 Indiana residents chose a health insurance plan through the federally run online exchange during its first two months of operation. The figures released Wednesday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services show about five times the number of Indiana residents have chosen a plan than during the federal exchange’s glitch-plagued first month of operation. INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis police officer’s lawsuit against the original seller of the handgun later used to wound him might have to overcome a state law that gives gun sellers significant immunity. The lawsuit filed in a Marion County court claims KS&E Sports of Indianapolis negligently sold the handgun used to shoot Officer Dwayne Runnels in 2011. SENT: 120 words. UPCOMING: 350 words.

FORT WAYNE — The Hoosier Park horse track is looking to pull in more gamblers to its Fort Wayne off-track betting parlor with a $2 million project moving it to a new location.
