Nursing scholarship established at Glenville State

GLENVILLE, W.Va. (AP) — Two former Glenville State College students have funded a nursing scholarship at the school.

Nancy Lemon Rust attended Glenville State in the early ’70s, and her husband Mike graduated from the college in 1973. Nancy Rust says that with the shortage of qualified nursing graduates projected to continue, she hopes the scholarship will provide an opportunity for high school graduates to earn a degree that will allow them to stay in West Virginia.

College President Peter Barr said Monday that the donation will make a difference for generations to come. The first Nancy Lemon Rust Nursing Scholarship will be awarded for the fall 2014 semester. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
