Whitehouse holding talks on RI health care reforms

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse will meet with the heads of Rhode Island’s health care industry for a discussion on the reforms that are part of the Affordable Care Act.

Taking part with the Democratic senator in Monday’s round-table discussion at Coastal Medical in East Providence will be Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts and representatives from Coastal Medical, Blue Cross Blue Shield Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Quality Institute, Care New England, and the Chronic Care Sustainability Initiative-RI.

Following the discussions, Whitehouse will take a tour of Coastal Medicine’s extended-hours clinic.
