U. breaks ground for eye, skin clinic in Murray

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The University of Utah’s health care system will open a clinic in the Salt Lake City suburb of Murray for dermatology and ophthalmology services.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1aTWe0j) that the Midvalley Health Center broke ground Monday and is expected to open a year from now.

Construction of 81,000-square-foot building is taking place on a nine-acre parcel near Fashion Place Mall that cost $14 million to buy.

Moran Eye Center chief executive Randy Olson says it’s a good location with easy access from major freeways.

The eye and skin center is being financed by hospital reserve funds and a $10 million loan from the state.
