NY nurse admits stealing drugs from hospital

NEW YORK (AP) — A nurse has pleaded guilty to stealing medicinal cocaine and other drugs from the emergency room at a Bronx hospital.

The New York Post reports (http://bit.ly/I9xuHu ) Allison Jones admitted Friday in Bronx Criminal Court that she got drugs including Oxycodone and other narcotic pain relievers on three occasions. The 34-year-old had her license suspended. Jones must undergo drug treatment and is on probation for three years.

She said she got the drugs from a secure medical-storage system by entering the name of a patient without the doctor’s permission. The patient had been recently discharged.

Her attorney declined to comment.
