BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College has announced a $12 million project to build a new nursing school.
MGCCC president Mary Graham says Nursing and Simulation Complex will be located south of the William Carey University campus on Mississippi Highway 67 on about five acres of land.
Officials say the groundbreaking on this ambitious project will be held sometime in the early part of next year, and college officials hope to open the School of Nursing in the fall of 2015.
Graham says the complex will enable the school to double the number of nurses who will graduate from its associate degree nursing program. Graham says students will have an easy transition to nursing programs at the University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey through articulation agreements already in place.
