‘Lexi Gordon Day’ to honor terminally ill girl

BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) — Northwestern Louisiana officials and a Bossier City nonprofit are bringing attention to a 2-year-old Keithville girl who is terminally ill.

Lexi Gordon suffers from Tay-Sachs disease. Working with the group called Pay it Forward Networking, Bossier City Mayor Lo Walker on Thursday proclaimed March 30, 2014, as Lexi Gordon Day. The Times of Shreveport reports (http://bit.ly/IgwVLz ) that Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover plans a similar proclamation.

Lexi’s parents, Tracy and Bryan Gordon, are working to raise awareness about the inherited illness. And they are working to raise money for research on Tay-Sachs.
