2 more arrests in Ore. medical marijuana killing

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say two more men were arrested Wednesday in the killing of a Tri City man being robbed of his medical marijuana.

The Roseburg News-Review (http://bit.ly/1ctMtVP ) reports that 22-year-old Lawrence Jace Harper and 25-year-old David Lee Habblett were arrested in the Riddle area.

Three other men already have been charged with murdering William Joe Bruton, 57. Bruton was found dead Oct. 20 in his home.

Charging papers say that Burton died after he resisted the men during the robbery. Police say one of the men, Buford Thomas Harper, held Burton in a chokehold, but the man stopped breathing. Harper attempted resuscitation but Burton was non-responsive. Police say Burton was already in custody when he spoke to them about Burton’s death.

Harper and Habblett are charged with criminally negligent homicide, first-degree robbery among others.
