Medical marijuana moms demonstrate in Medford

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A group called Moms for Marijuana planned a demonstration Tuesday afternoon on the Jackson County Courthouse steps in Medford.

An organizer, 31-year-old Lindsey Rinehart, uses medical marijuana to help reduce the symptoms of multiple sclerosis.

Rinehart told the Mail Tribune (http://bit.ly/1j1K3A7) she lost custody of her children for 17 days earlier this year when she lived in Idaho because of her marijuana.

She moved to Oregon looking for a more marijuana-friendly environment. But the Medford City Council says it will rely on federal anti-marijuana law to ban medical marijuana dispensaries.
