Coroner: BART workers died of blunt force trauma

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (AP) — The coroner has announced the cause of death in the Oct. 19 track accident that killed two Bay Area Rapid Transit workers.

The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff-Coroner says 58-year-old Christopher Sheppard and 66-year-old Laurence Daniels both died from multiple blunt force injuries as they inspected track between the Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill stations.

The Contra Costa Times reports (http://bit.ly/1huNlOe ) the autopsy had not been completed, and that the coroner released no further information.
