BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) — Police say a 12-year-old autistic girl who was reported missing Sunday night from a Beaverton hotel was found safe in Gresham.
Police searched all night and said she was found about 3:45 a.m. Monday and held for her family. She was cold but otherwise in good shape.
Her stepfather told KOIN (http://bit.ly/HqZrK7 ) the girl left the hotel where they were staying because she wanted to go home. He says she rode the MAX line to Gresham where she called her mother who alerted police. She was spotted by an officer at a Max station.
The stepfather says she had traveled on the MAX system only once before.
