Rx drug takeback underway at multiple Colo. sites

DENVER (AP) — Multiple law enforcement agencies are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration to offer people a chance to safely dispose of prescription medication.

The DEA is working with state and local law enforcement to collect and dispose of the drugs at locations across the state from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The chemicals in prescription drugs can harm wildlife or the environment if thrown away or flushed down a sink or toilet. Drugs left in trash bins or by the curb also can be stolen and abused.
