Honeybee health research grants available in ND

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota’s Agriculture Department is offering a total of $75,000 in grants to fund research into honeybee health.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the state Legislature appropriated the money to counter increasingly serious bee diseases and parasites, and grant proposals are now being accepted. The application deadline is Dec. 2.

North Dakota leads the nation in the production of honey.
